The New England Pentecostal Ministries church in Pelham , New Hampshire, was the scene of a horrific shooting on the morning of October 12. The church is located at 955 Bridge Street in Pelham . The nature of the injuries suffered by those wounded is not known at the time of writing.

Authorities responded to the New England Pentecostal Ministries on Bridge Street just after 10 a.m. Bridge Street was open for a time after the shooting, but as of 1:15, the road is closed. Drivers should avoid the area as it is a very active scene.

Two people suffered gunshot wounds and were hospitalized, according to Pelham Police Chief Joseph Roark.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office identified Bishop Stanley Choate, 75, as one of the shooting victims. Officials said the bride, 60-year-old Claire McMullen, was the second shooting victim. Chief Joseph Roark said police received a report at 10:12 a.m. Saturday for an active shooter at New England Pentecostal Ministries, located at 955 Bridge St.When officers arrived at the scene, they found Choate, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper chest, and began rendering medical aid.

Guests of the wedding subdued the shooter, who was arrested and taken to the Pelham Police Department, officials said. Guests who subdued the suspect suffered minor injuries.

"This does not seem to be a random event at this point," Roark said.

No deaths were reported in relation to this shooting, Roark said.

Police said the shooter arrived at the scene after the wedding began.

Roark said the church underwent active shooter training within the past year.

The NYPD Counterterrorism Bureau indicated in a tweet that it is following the developments of the shooting in Pelham.

A celebration of life memorial service for Luis Garcia was set for noon. Garcia, 60, was shot and killed earlier this month. He served as a minister at this church for six years.

"I think that we're still in shock. I think that we don't know what is happening inside. We're in shock. We're just here to celebrate Luis' celebration of life," Geraldo Pagan, who was headed to the memorial service, said.

It’s not known if the shooting was connected to the planned memorial service.
