  ICE getting eviction notice in Boston The Suffolk County Sheriff is cutting ties with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The move comes as the department begins to take in more female inmates from surrounding counties. ICE has been under contract with Suffolk County to use its facilities for detainees since 2003. About 200 illegal immigrants are being housed at the South Bay House of Correction. Sheriff Steven Tompkins said he wants to move them elsewhere and is giving ICE 60 days to make that happen. He wants to provide rehabilitation services to more women who will soon be housed at the facility. The female inmates are headed there as part of a new agreement among several counties.

Police have confirmed this afternoon that a 24-year-old woman has been arrested and is being question by detectives over child neglect after her child fell

Suffolk Police Department said a woman was arrested after a child fell from a second-story window on Wednesday.

Police said the child is six-years-old.

Suffolk Emergency Communications received a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. about an injured person who fell out of a window in the 200 block of Grace Street.

Officers said the child received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel before being taken to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk with serious injuries.

After investigating, police said 24-year-old Yvonne Wakita Williams of Suffolk was arrested on charged with Abuse And Neglect of Children Endangering Health, and Cruelty and Injuries to Children.

A grand jury indicted 55-year-old Kirsten Hurd earlier this month, then arrested her on one Court paperwork says he fractured his skull and spent eight days at Children ’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk.

She is currently being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

Child Protective Services also responded and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.

Funeral underway for woman shot in home by Fort Worth officer .
The funeral for Atatiana Jefferson, the Texas woman who was shot in her home by a Fort Worth Police officer, is underway after a judge halted the original service. Jefferson was playing video games with her 8-year-old nephew in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, when she was fatally shot by Fort Worth Police officer Aaron Dean, who fired into her bedroom window while conducting a wellness check.
