Woman flags down officer, asks for ride to stolen car, Lincoln police say
Lincoln police said they arrested a woman who asked an officer for a ride back to a car that turned out to have been stolen. Lynette Stewart, 37, flagged down an officer around 11 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Lincoln Boulevard. Police said Stewart told the officer she ran out of gas somewhere in the area and needed help finding the vehicle. The officer saw a vehicle matching that description about six blocks away and gave Stewart a ride back to it.When he dropped her off, the officer learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Cameron Park on Thursday.Stewart was arrested on charges of vehicle theft and possession of methamphetamine, police said.
Police in Orlando are searching for a person they say grabbed a woman and then sexually battered her outside a home in the Thornton Park neighborhood.
Officials with the Orlando Police Department said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at home on East Jefferson Street.
Police said the victim was in front of her home when a man wearing all black with a bandana over his face grabbed her and forced her to the side of the house where he sexually battered her.
Driver’s Firearm Goes Off During Incident With ‘Squeegee Kids’, Baltimore Police Say
A firearm went off during a struggle between a driver and squeegee kids Wednesday afternoon , a police report confirms.© Provided by CBS Local, a division of CBS Radio IncA woman was driving down Martin Luther King Blvd when she came to the intersection at Washington Blvd. While she was sitting at the light she said a group of squeegee kids surrounded her vehicle, spraying fluid all over her windshield and demanding money.She said the group started striking her car with squeegees causing damages, saying they were being aggressive.
The woman described the attacker as a light-skinned black man, who was around 6 feet tall with a thin build and short black hair.
Police searched the area, but were unable to find the man.
Police said they have increased manpower and resources in the Thornton Park area.
Investigators said it’s unclear at this point if the incident is related toon Cathcart Avenue in Thornton Park.
In that incident, a woman was coming home from walking her dog when a man came up behind her and covered her mouth to stop her from screaming, then tried to push her into her apartment.
Officials said the victim was able to make enough noise that her neighbor came outside, causing the attacker to flee.
