Woman stabbed to death by son in Plainville, police say
A 21-year-old man is accused of stabbing his mother to death in Plainville. Police were called at 10:14 p.m. Thursday to the home at 37 Landau Road. The victim, 51-year old Carlyn D. Murphy, was found dead with apparent stab wounds. Her son, Sean Murphy, 21, who lived in the home, was taken into custody at Patriots Place in Foxborough. Plainville police said they do not believe that there is any ongoing threat or danger to the public. A North Nashville man was fatally stabbed inside his home Saturday night, according to police.
Melvin Daniel, 52, pounded on his neighbor's door at 7:50 p.m. seeking help and collapsed, according to a news release from the Metro Nashville Police Department.
He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
North Precinct detectives are working to identify who is responsible for the stabbing.
Daniel lived alone in an apartment on Clare Avenue, police said, and was known to have frequent visitors.
