  Police: 1 dead, 7 injured in crash involving van carrying special needs students in Westwood One person is dead and seven others are injured after a two-vehicle crash involving a van carrying special needs students in Westwood on Monday. The crash took place around 11:56 a.m. on Lafeuille Circle and Harrison Avenue when a car went left of center, crashing into an Oak Hills school van transporting special needs high school students. The driver of the car was pronounced dead, police said. School officials said six high school students and two adults were in the van at the time of the crash. The students were on their way to work sites to have job experiences, officials said.

One person is dead following a crash on Route I-95 in Westwood Wednesday morning, State police said.

Troopers responded to the southbound side of the highway near Exit 12 shortly after 7 a.m. for reports of a two-car crash, according to State police spokesman Dave Procopio.

One of the cars rolled over as a result of the crash, killing the driver, Procopio said. The person was pronounced dead at Norwood Hospital.

Two lanes were closed off but have since reopened, police said.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The crash is being investigated by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
