  Police: Man grabbed, raped woman outside Thornton Park home Police in Orlando are searching for a person they say grabbed a woman and then sexually battered her outside a home in the Thornton Park neighborhood. Officials with the Orlando Police Department said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday at home on East Jefferson Street. Police said the victim was in front of her home when a man wearing all black with a bandana over his face grabbed her and forced her to the side of the house where he sexually battered her. The woman described the attacker as a light-skinned black man, who was around 6 feet tall with a thin build and short black hair. Police searched the area, but were unable to find the man.

BENSONHURST, Brooklyn — A man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly forced his way into a Brooklyn woman ’ s apartment and Bensabeur faces multiple charges including attempted rape, sexually motivated burglary, forcible touching, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The suspect accused of attacking a woman last month outside her Cathcart Avenue apartment turned himself in to police Monday, an Orlando police spokesman said.

Michael T. Scarlett II, who police said should be considered “extremely dangerous,” followed a woman to her Lake Eola Heights apartment Oct. 9 as she was returning from a walk, police have said. As she opened her front door, authorities said Scarlett put his hand around her mouth and attempted to push his way inside.

A neighbor came outside when he heard the woman’s screams, and Scarlett fled, according to OPD.

Police identified Scarlett, 28, as the suspect at a press conference Saturday. Scarlett turned himself in at Orlando police headquarters about 3 a.m. Monday, OPD Sgt. David Baker said in an email.

Authorities are still searching for a man accused of raping a woman Oct. 26 outside a nearby home.

Police said that suspect, 36-year-old James Calixte, had his face covered with a bandanna when he grabbed a woman and pulled her around to the side of an East Jefferson Street house, where he raped her.
