ROCKVILLE, CT (WFSB) - One of two University of Connecticut students arrested for shouting racist words is on the docket to face a judge on Wednesday. Ryan Mucaj was one of two students arrested for shouting racist words on the University of Connecticut campus.
Four Locust Grove High School students are hospitalized after authorities say they knowingly took a party drug at school Friday morning.
NewsChopper 2 was over the high school in Henry County, where the school was on lockdown. The school district said classes were proceeding as scheduled despite the lockdown.
The four students took some kind of liquid drug, likely the party drug GHB, Henry County Chief Deputy David Foster confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.
Louisiana woman arrested for selling students doctor’s notes to get out of class
An employee at a Louisiana medical clinic accused of selling students fake doctor’s notes has been arrested. Belinda Gail Fondren remained behind bars Friday at the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail on a charge of filing or maintaining false public records. The 52-year-old was allegedly selling phony excuses and doctor’s notes to teenagers at local high schools for $20 apiece. Vernon Parish Sheriff Sam Craft said that two students from Evans High School recently purchased 14 notes from Fondren.
The students include a 17-year-old, 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds. All are females.
The four students were taken to two different hospitals by ambulance, one of them by helicopter.
Foster said no one has died.
One female student is in custody for supplying the drug, Foster said.
Deputies have arrested a 15-year-old female student and charged her with possession with intent to distribute GHB, possession of GHB, reckless conduct and disruption of a public school.
Foster confirms all five girls were friends.
Henry County Schools spokesman J.D. Hardin released the following statement about the incident just before 11 a.m.:

There is a further investigation underway into the matter, but the most important thing at this point is the health and wellbeing of the students needing medical attention. They are currently receiving it at area hospitals. District leaders and school officials are supporting the school at this moment, and all classes are proceeding as scheduled."
The Sheriff's Office released the following information:
"There has been a medical emergency at Locust Grove High School, involving four female students. These students are believed to have ingested a combination of some type of chemical and or drug. This is an isolated incident, and these are the only students involved. All four students have been transported to area hospitals. Locust Grove High School will remain on lockdown, while the investigation continues. We will update you when we have more information and the lockdown has been lifted."
