(AP) — Authorities in Maryland say a man suspected of several bank robberies was arrested after he robbed a bank in front of an off-duty police officer. News outlets report 51-year-old Fletcher Dorsett was arrested Monday and charged with armed robbery, assault and theft. Baltimore County police spokeswoman Jennifer Peach says Dorsett robbed a teller Monday by passing her a note demanding money. Peach says an off-duty Baltimore County officer ran after Dorsett once the teller said she was robbed. Peach says the officer tackled Dorsett and held him at gunpoint until officers arrived.

According to Los Angeles police, three suspects entered Lauryn Elaine’s apartment in the 5000 block of Fair Avenue, pointed a handgun at her and then fled with several items.

In a video released by TMZ which showed the ransacked apartment, Elaine said the suspects tied her hands and feet together with a dog leash. However, police would not confirm to CBS2 that part of her account.

Elaine came upon the robbers as she was returning home at around 11:45 p.m. and found her front door broken in, according to TMZ.

There was no immediate description of the suspects, who remained at large as of Friday morning. It’s unclear if police had obtained any surveillance video of the incident.
