Torrie L. Smith, 24, allegedly shot a man in the right leg after an argument, according to Master Deputy Darren Dukes with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Dukes said Smith used a 9 mm handgun that he wasn't authorized by law to use.

According to the police report, Smith was arrested and charged for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and malicious injury to property.

Deputies said they were called to the Tire Corral on Seminole Drive around 2 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

At the scene, deputies said they found a man with a gunshot wound. That man was taken to the hospital with injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening, deputies said.

Investigators said Smith was located at the scene and was taken to the Sheriff's Office for questioning.

Smith is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Facility, Dukes said.
