Missouri will consider 17-year-old offenders as juveniles instead of adults beginning in 2021
ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Missouri law will be changing when it comes to how the criminal justice system handles 17-year-olds. Starting in 2021, 17-year-olds will be considered juveniles instead of adults. At 17 you can be in the band, or the captain of the football team but in Missouri you can also find yourself behind bars in an adult prison. It’s something Demetrius Evans believes a child shouldn’t see or experience. Evans is 33 and was on stage at Vashon High School sharing his story. He spent years in and out of the system, and at 15 he was certified as an adult for an armed robbery.At 16, he was in a maximum security prison.

A child was killed in an apartment fire Christmas Eve morning in southwest Houston, according to officials.
Authorities say a man, woman and young girl have been killed in an apartment fire in Missouri.
Clinton Fire Chief Leo Huff says the fire was reported around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday. He says a second story apartment in the 12-unit building was burning when crews arrived. The blaze was brought under control within about 20 minutes, and the victims were found inside. Their names weren't immediately released. He says the girl was 4 or 5 years old.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Huff said he didn't know where it started. One other unit in the apartment building also sustained water and fire damage.

Plane with Hillary Clinton aboard returns to gate after mechanical issue .
Hillary Clinton was aboard an American Airlines flight from New York that suffered a mechanical issue and needed to return to the gate Sunday afternoon, according to a law enforcement source. A separate law enforcement source confirmed Clinton was aboard a plane which experienced a mechanical issue that needed to return to the gate. American Airlines says flight 2144, from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Washington's Reagan National Airport returned to the gate around 3:15 pm, ET, after ground personnel saw the mechanical issue, according to the source.
