Officials on Wednesday arrested and charged more than two dozen people and seized 130 guns, 39 pounds of methamphetamine and 20 pounds of marijuana in a massive bust coordinated by the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the agencies announced on Friday.

Ray Roundtree, spokesman for San Francisco’s ATF division, said the operation was years in the making.

The suspects’ alleged crimes vary, but 15 of those arrested face federal charges in connection with distributing drugs and selling or possessing firearms.

The suspects are mostly in their 20s or early 30s, officials said. They are from South San Francisco, San Mateo, Modesto, Redwood City, East Palo Alto and elsewhere, but were likely involved in criminal activity in the South Bay.

Other agencies involved were the U.S. Marshal Service, Homeland Security Investigations, FBI, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, California Department of Corrections, California Highway Patrol and the police departments of Redwood City, San Mateo, San Francisco and Daly City.

4 arrested and charged after drug bust in Monroe .
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested four people following a drug bust Thursday night. Robert Steven Cochran, Brian Allen Hancock, Clyde Felton Payne and William Dewight Hancock were all arrested after Deputies produced a search warrant at a home in the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park at the 2000 block of GA-42 South around 11:30 p.m. At that time, over 19 grams of methamphetamine was found as well as scales, syringes, and a device used for smoking methamphetamine. All four suspects were charged with distribution of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
