Suspect tries to evade Houston police by going wrong direction on freeway
A chase suspect was apprehended after he tried to get away by going the wrong way on a major freeway overnight, Houston police said. Officers with the Houston Police Department tried to stop a driver in Chevrolet SUV at about 2:30 a.m. Friday. The driver went from Airline, turning northbound onto the southbound frontage road lanes along I-45 North. Houston TranStar cameras showed the driver then got on the mainlanes of the freeway traveling in the wrong direction before he got out and ran away.© Provided by TEGNA Inc.Police were able to locate the suspect east of the freeway a few minutes later, near Nording and Tidwell. A woman got out of a car while traveling in the Badaling Wildlife Zoo in the suburbs of Beijing on Saturday. She was then dragged away by a tiger. Driver Hospitalized After Suspected Road-Rage Shooting on 405 Fwy in Inglewood 
A driver was wounded after a motorcyclist opened fire on the 405 Freeway in Inglewood Monday evening in a shooting believed to be motivated by road rage, officials said. The gunfire was reported around 6:30 p.m. near the Century Boulevard exit, California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig said. A motorcyclist shot the driver of a sedan through his passenger side window, according to Inglewood Police Lt. Neal Cochran and video from the scene.The victim was able to exit the freeway at Century Boulevard and walked into a Motel 6 nearby to seek help, Cochran said.Paramedics responded to the hotel and transported the victim, a man, for treatment.
USC Student Found Dead In Off-Campus Housing Brings Semester Death Toll To 9

A woman was shot in the head by an unknown gunman as her and her boyfriend were driving on the 610 Loop overnight. This happened just after 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the 610 North Loop near the North Freeway. Woman gives birth in van on I-45 North 
Houston firefighters responded to a stopped van alongside I-45 North early Monday to find a woman in labor. Shortly before 2 a.m. first responders were called to I-45 near Little York. They found a large white van stopped on the shoulder of the southbound mainlanes. A woman was delivering a baby in the front passenger seat. KHOU 11 cameras showed the child being removed from the van in a blanket. Michigan man arrested in 1980 death of Virginia woman 
A Michigan man has been arrested in the 1980 homicide of a young Virginia woman whose husband was deployed as a U.S. Navy pilot at the time of her death. Authorities say 70-year-old Dennis Bowman was arrested Friday in Allegan County, Michigan, where he lives, 175 miles (281 kilometers) west of Detroit.
