According to Oklahoma City police, officers responded to a welfare check at an apartment complex near Northwest 19th Street and Meridian. They found a shooting victim inside a vehicle. Officers were called to the home between Main and Silver streets about 7:30 a.m. after a neighbor woke up to find the white sport-utility vehicle parked and someone inside, Sgt. Adam Blinn said.

"He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen," Blinn said. "The victim, an adult male, was declared deceased."

This is the area where a multi-agency investigative team assembled this week to continue the search for the Jacksonville girl who was reported missing early Wednesday by her mother, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.Demopolis police say identification of the remains is pending. Teams from their office as well as the FBI, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Fire and Rescue Department, Alabama Attorney Generals Office and others contributed to the findings.

There were no reports of gunshots from neighbors, and no bullet hole was found in the vehicle, police said. There are no witnesses or suspects right now, police said.

The SUV has been towed to the Sheriff's Office warehouse for testing by crime scene detectives for evidence, Blinn said.
