Oklahoma police chief killed in Florida; fellow officer arrested, authorities say
An Oklahoma police chief was killed during a physical altercation Sunday in Florida, and his co-worker was arrested in connection with his death, according to authorities. According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, deputies responded to the incident at about 9 p.m. at a hotel on Pensacola Beach. They arrived and found the victim, Lucky Miller, dead at the scene. Miller was the police chief in Mannford, Oklahoma. Authorities said the two were in Florida for a law enforcement conference.

A Florida man was arrested late Tuesday after he admitted to shooting and killing a man the same night in an Ocala neighborhood, according to the Ocala Police Department.
Alton Wilkerson, 22 of Ocala, was booked at Marion County Jail Wednesday morning and faces charges of second-degree murder, according to Marion County records.
Officers responded to a call at around 10 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a shooting at 2324 SW Fort King Street, said OPD’s Corie Byrd.
When officers arrived they found Ocala man Tyler Richardson lying on the floor with several gunshot wounds, Byrd said. Richardson was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, Byrd said.
Officer were told that dispatch received a call from the suspected shooter, later to be revealed as Wilkerson, admitting to the shooting as well as his location, Byrd said.
Several witnesses to the shooting also observed Wilkerson fleeing the scene, Byrd said.
Officers met with Wilkerson, who was cooperative but did not give officers a reason for the shooting, Byrd said.
Wilkerson told officers he stashed his gun in a nearby forest and escorted them to its location near a large tree where they successfully recovered the weapon.
