Man suspected of fatal shooting said he was man from 'Joker'

Man suspected of fatal shooting said he was man from 'Joker' Nevada authorities have said a man suspected of a fatal shooting last month was dressed as the Joker from the recently released movie of the same name and identified himself as the main character Arthur Fleck. The Reno Gazette-Journal reported Thursday that 25-year-old Juan Hernandez was arrested on murder charges Oct. 27 after he was suspected of fatally shooting 22-year-old Luis Torres-Mederos during a Halloween Zombie Crawl in downtown Reno.

Video surveillance in the area helped Mount Vernon detectives retrace steps of White and two other suspects in the hours before and after the shooting. They were arrested two weeks after Brown was killed.

Pierre Mensah and White's uncle, Philip Spearman, are the other two suspects who were arrested.

Prosecutors said Mensah was also involved in the robberies. He pleaded not guilty in June 2018 to charges including second-degree murder.

Both of those cases are still pending.

Mount Vernon Police Detectives led the investigation. Second Deputy District Attorney Perry Perrone, Chief of the Superior Court Trial Division, and Assistant District Attorney Michelle Lopez, Chief of the Sex Crimes Bureau, prosecuted the case.
