A teenage girl was found dead in a pond after being assaulted while walking with friends in Fairfax County , Virginia, to her mosque early Sunday, police said. Police searched a wooded area near Dranesville Road and Woodson Drive area in Herndon, Virginia, for several hours.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A homicide investigation is underway after a 19-year-old woman was found dead in a wooded area in Dickerson Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., a passerby discovered the body in the woods, located in the 25700 block of Old Hundred Rd. The woman, who was found near the roadway, had been shot, according to Montgomery County police.

Detectives have identified the teen as Sara Gutierrez-Villatoro, of Washington, D.C.

Gutierrez-Villatoro's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Her death, police said, has been ruled a homicide.

2nd arrest in disappearance of UFC fighter’s stepdaughter .
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn police have arrested a second man in the disappearance of a UFC heavyweight fighter’s stepdaughter. Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes told The Associated Press by email Saturday that 35-year-old Antwain Shamar Fisher of Montgomery has been charged with first-degree kidnapping in the disappearance last month of 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard. Fisher was arrested Friday and booked Saturday into the Lee County Jail, Hughes told the Opelika-Auburn News and WRBL-TV. Blanchard, whose stepfather is UFC participant Walt Harris of metro Birmingham, was last seen Oct. 23 at a convenience store in Auburn.
