Man charged in hit-and-run crash with Lamar CISD school bus
A 33-year-old Houston man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash involving a Lamar CISD school bus. Benjamin Ayala, 33, of Houston, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with crash involving damage to a vehicle > $200. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened on Oct. 14 in the 3400 block of McCrary Road. Ayala is accused of slamming into the bus and then fleeing the scene. Paul Burak, 73, of Palos Heights was charged with aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of a fatal accident, Orland Park police said in a media Saturday morning.

Yonkers priest accused of 'parading' sex abuse victim toward other men: Court filing
A former Yonkers priest was named in the latest child sex abuse case. He also served in Poughkeepsie where a previous sex act got him defrockedDaniel Calabrese, along with nine other defendants, were charged with abusing a then 13-year-old boy while a student at Saint Joseph's Seminary, according to a Westchester court filing.
Police said Burak was taken into custody Friday.
A spokesperson from St. Michael School in Orland Park confirmed the victims were two teachers at the school who were leaving the Parish Christmas party at the time of the incident.
Officials identified the victims as third-grade teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Kosteck and 61-year-old Ms. Rone (Margaret) Leja. School officials confirmed Ms. Leja, who taught technology, died during the incident.
Officials said Kosteck was released from the hospital.
The accident happened as the women were leaving a Christmas party Wednesday night near Orland Square Mall. According to a statement from the Archdiocese of Chicago, Burak was a retired pastor of St. Michael Parish.
Officials said the retired priest attended the St. Michael Christmas party.
Burak’s bond hearing is set for Saturday.
