Prolific 'wedding crasher' thief targeted festivities across California, police say
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A notorious wedding crasher - accused of targeting festivities in California and beyond - has been captured after he was spotted at the San Francisco airport, San Francisco police said. Mario Hernandez, a 58-year-old from Lancaster, was detained at San Francisco International Airport just before 10:30 p.m. on Friday after officers saw him going into a bathroom and recognized him from a crime bulletin, the San Francisco Police Department announced in a news release on Tuesday.Hernandez is suspected in “numerous thefts” in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles region, police said.
A woman was arrested and charged with DUI in southwest Atlanta early Saturday morning when a car she was driving struck an Atlanta Police car.
According to Atlanta Police, it happened on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, S.W., near the intersection wtih Sells Avenue, S.W., near Morehouse College.
Sgt. John Chafee said the officer was parked on the median at about 2 a.m. completing paperwork, when a white Chrysler 300 drove onto the median and struck the front of the patrol car.
The cruiser had its blue lights on in the "steady" state, Chafee said, and not flashing at the time of the incident.
The driver of the Chrysler, 27-year-old Candyce Howell, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.
Woman accused of shooting, killing man at northwest OKC apartment, police say
A woman was arrested on a complaint of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a man in Oklahoma City. According to police, at about 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment near Northwest 122nd Street and North Rockwell Avenue. Officers learned a domestic-related altercation took place between the victim and the suspect. Sign up for our Newsletters The victim, later identified as 28-year-old George Bell, was shot during the altercation and pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, a 28-year-old woman, was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of first-degree murder.
Howell declined medical treatment, Chafee said. He said the officer advised he had minor pain, but declined medical treatment also.
