FREEHOLD - The housemate of a missing Ocean Township woman has been charged with first-degree murder following her disappearance after a massive fire burned down her home.

Ronald Teschner has been charged with the murder of Jacqueline Terrulli, who has not been seen since a three-alarm fire burned down the $1.7 million home that she was renting at 86 Wickapecko Drive.

Teschner was arrested on the morning of Sept. 13, a day after the fire at Terrulli's home in Ocean Township. Details of the new charge were expected to be announced in a Wednesday morning press conference .

Teschner has a lengthy criminal history in New Jersey including multiple stints in state prison and convictions for assault, drugs and burglary, according to court records.

Terrulli has not been seen or heard from since the fire. The last known correspondence to her family was a text saying she was "tired of Teschner and going to bed."

She has been described as the rock of the family. In addition to Teschner, Terrullli's mom, brother and sister also lived in the house, family has said.

"My aunt had the biggest heart and was the first to help anyone," Jennifer Terrulli, Jacqueline's niece, wrote in a Facebook message to a reporter after the fire. "It's a real tragedy and it's difficult."
