Boy killed when car strikes group of children outside British school
British police launched a murder investigation on Monday after a 12-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured when a car struck a group of children outside a school in southern England. Police said the they were called to reports that a number of pedestrians had been hurt following the incident which involved a silver Ford Ka.The 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he died. A 53-year-old woman and four other children - three boys, two aged 15 and a 13-year-old and a girl, 16 - were also hurt but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A New York man was struck and killed by a car on Route 46 in Wayne Wednesday night, authorities said.
John Baranski, 60, of Endicott, NY was killed after he was struck by a Honda SUV on Route 46 East in the area of the Ramada Inn at about 9:50 p.m., the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. Baranski was pronounced dead at about 10:30 p.m.
Police did not charge the driver, a 66-year-old man from Clifton who stayed at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing, the statement said.
Pedestrian dies after getting hit by multiple vehicles in Aurora
A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after getting hit by at least two vehicles in Aurora, according to the Aurora Police Department (APD). Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Aurora Public Safety Communications Center received calls stating that a pedestrian had been struck by several vehicles in the 18900 block of East Smith Road. An investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking along East Smith Road when they were struck by one vehicle and then another vehicle, APD said. Those two drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation. It was also reported that a third vehicle was involved but that the driver did not remain on scene, according to APD.
Traffic cameras showed that police blocked off the entire highway as they investigated the incident just east of the Willowbrook Mall. The accident also caused closure of several ramps on Interstate 80, Route 23 and Route 46, Wayne police announced on Twitter.

Witnesses told police they did not see the collision, but heard a loud noise and saw the man’s body flying in the air. Vaquero landed in the middle of street, where he was pronounced dead. His ex-wife, America Martinez, tearfully pleaded with the hit-and-run driver to own up to what he or she did.“I just wanna beg to the person to come into the police,” she said.Police say they are searching for a dark blue Honda or Hyundai with significant front-end damage. A piece of the vehicle was left behind at the scene. The vehicle was last seen going east on Sunset Boulevard.
