A witness, who also lived at the suspects' home, reportedly identified Steinberg after seeing her driver’s license photo.

The statement says physical evidence and surveillance images incriminate both men, who are charged with murder, felony murder and armed robbery.

It outlines a chronology that begins shortly after 1 p.m. on Dec. 1, when a video appears to show Steinberg arriving at the suspects’ home, and ends a little more than 24 hours later with the discovery of her body in Farnham Park.

A different view of Steinberg's life comes in an online appeal for funds to support the future education of her 7-year-old daughter.

"Hayley became a charming young woman lost too soon," says the GoFundMe campaign organized by the victim's sister, Lynsey Steinberg.

The appeal describes Hayley Steinberg, the youngest of six siblings, as a "naturally gifted" person who excelled in art, track and swimming.

"Hayley always looked to be a strong and loving mother," said the appeal, which had raised more than $9,000 by Thursday afternoon.

"Until her passing, she was actively involved in the recovery communities," it added.

Steinberg’s body was found in a wooded area of the park, near a walking path that leads toward Kaighn Avenue, the statement says.

"She had numerous long lacerations and bruising about her face," it notes. “A bent kitchen knife with what appeared to be blood on it was found next to her body."

The body had been dumped the previous afternoon, the statement says.

It notes video images appear to show Steinberg’s remains on the backseat of her vehicle as the suspects drove into the park around 3:12 p.m. on Dec. 1.

The men at first denied having been in the Mercedes, then claimed they were getting a ride from two other men when the vehicle ran out of gas.
