At Least 12 People Are Killed in Plane Crash in Kazakhstan A passenger jet carrying 98 people crashed into a building shortly after takeoff from Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan on Friday morning, killing at least 12 people and injuring scores more. The crash of the Bek Air plane was the latest aviation tragedy to befall a former Soviet republic, a region plagued by a still-checkered safety record even as passenger numbers increase with the proliferation of low-cost carriers like Bek, a small Kazakh airline. Most of the passengers survived, the Kazakh authorities said.

Texas Attorney-General Ken Paxton praised authorities for bringing the alleged fraud to light amid "unprecedented" voter fraud in Tuesday's presidential election, the result of which is contested by incumbent Donald Trump and Democrat candidate Joe Biden.

Gertz was driving north on Granville Road in the Town of Cedarburg shortly after 5 p.m. on July 3 when he ignored a stop sign at County Highway NN and hit a westbound car driven by Glenn Lewis.

Lewis, 56, of Cedarburg was pronounced dead at Froedtert Hospital hours after he was flown by helicopter from the crash site.

Gertz remained at the scene and told a sheriff's deputy he just didn't see the stop sign. At the time, he was cited for failing to obey a stop sign, causing great bodily harm.

But days later, the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department noticed comments on its Facebook page about the crash suggesting Gertz had commented to his passenger that he was fully aware of the stop sign and had commented, "No cop, no stop."

Someone who had been mowing his lawn near the intersection also left a Facebook comment that prompted investigators to follow up. The man said even though he was wearing headphones while mowing, he could hear Gertz's car approaching at high speed and knew it was going too fast to stop at the intersection.
