Man killed by his own truck on New Year's Eve, Plano police say
A man was found dead in the middle of a Plano street on New Year's Eve. Authorities say some party-goers were leaving a Plano neighborhood when they noticed a man lying in the middle of the street and called police.
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A man armed with a knife has died after he was shot by officers at the Veteran Affairs hospital in Dallas late Wednesday evening, police said.
Dallas police said they responded to the shooting at around 10:20 p.m. involving a man who walked into the hospital for mental health issues and was armed with a knife.
After going into the hospital, police said the man then walked outside and two VA hospital officers followed him.
According to police, those two officers tried to disarm the man but were unable to. During some sort of altercation, the officers shot the man.
He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
Dallas police will be investigating the shooting.

Sign up for our Newsletters Police said Daniels was shot and killed by Officer Brian Fredette after Fredette was called to Prospect Park Wednesday afternoon on reports of a man attacking a woman. Police said they got a report that a man was stabbing a woman with a knife in Prospect Park and said they said they were told several armed people were coming to the woman’s defense.Police said Officer Fredette told Daniels to drop the knife, but when Daniels refused, Fredette shot him.
