A robbery suspect was shot by a Houston police sergeant Monday afternoon in Midtown. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said the sergeant was working an extra job in the 2200 block of Fannin Street and witnessed the robbery suspect pistol-whipping his victim.The sergeant got out of his vehicle and when the suspect saw the officer he raised his gun at him, Chief Acevedo claimed. Officers responded Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, around 2:41 p.m., in the 3000 block of Buena Vista Terrace, Southeast, for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
