  Suspects On The Run After Robbing Auto Parts Store On Detroit's West Side DETROIT (WWJ) -- The search is on for a pair of suspects who are wanted for robbing an auto parts store on Detroit's west side Saturday night. Detroit police say around 8 p.m. Saturday, two suspects approached the counter of an auto parts store in the 14600 block of W. 7 Mile Road, near Hubbell Avenue, and demanded money from the cash register. Authorities say a 26-year-old employee complied with suspects, who also demanded money from the safe. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported during the robbery.Both suspects are described as a black males in their 20s, approximately 5-foot-8 to 6-feet-tall, with thin builds.

Officers were called to the JZ Motel on 8 Mile Road, near Gratiot Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 56-year-old man was found badly beaten. He later died from his injuries.

Police declined to release further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Manager Devan Patel told WWJ's Charlie Langton that the motel's surveillance cameras captured chilling footage from the night.

DETROIT – A man was shot and killed early Sunday on Detroit ' s east side . Police said a call was received about a shooting in the 6000 block of Holcomb Avenue at 2:31 a.m. When police arrived, they found a man in the middle of the street with a gunshot wound to the head.

"He's a regular, he rented a room at 6:30," Patel said. "After looking at the camera footage, another male went into the room about 15-20 minutes after. Around 9:30, one male walked out, the one that came in after, and the door was propped open."

Patel said the front desk manager then walked by the room and made a terrible discovery.

"He seen a puddle of blood, so he walked into the room and he seen that the guy was unconscious, lying on the floor," said Patel. "He called me, I rushed over and at that time the male was still breathing. We believe that on the way to the hospital, I think, the male might have died."

At this time, no arrests have been made. No suspect description was provided.

The victim's name has not been released.

"He's a frequent customer. He stayed to himself. He was a nice guy. He always wanted a room downstairs, it was easy for him to walk into it. He'd come maybe once a month, twice a month," said Patel. "It's a tragedy. We didn't expect it. We're just in complete shock."
