Phoenix Christian Preparatory School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning as police arrested a suspected burglar on the roof of a school building, officials said.
Officers responded about 7 a.m. to the school near 19th Avenue and Indian School Road regarding a suspected burglar, according to a Phoenix Police Department news release.
According to police at the school, a maintenance employee inside the school heard noises coming from the roof, and when the employee asked the person to come down, the person would not.

The school was placed on lockdown while officers attempted to apprehend the adult suspect. The person did not cooperate and "less than lethal tools" were used to take the person into custody, police said in the release.
The person was arrested, but the school was still on lockdown as the crisis team investigated, according to police officers at the scene.
There were no injuries reported; no other suspects were located.
