Thieves stole dozens of beehives from a Galt property this week, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

The 36 beehives were stolen from the 27000 block of N. Lower Sacramento Road. The hives were olive green, double stacked, eight-frame and 90% plastic inside.

Officials said the hives were last seen Tuesday night and were discovered missing Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators shared a photo of beehives similar to the ones stolen.

The stolen beehives are estimated to be worth $12,240, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at 209-361-9798.
