HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ) -- A Detroit man is in custody and a woman is injured after a two-county high-speed police chase ended in crash in West Michigan over the weekend.

Van Buren County Central dispatch was alerted that Berrien County police were chasing a suspect along I-94 early Saturday morning and the chase was about to cross into Van Buren County, according to a report from Fox 17 in Grand Rapids.

Authorities said the driver of a 2019 gray Chrysler 300 was headed east on the freeway at speeds well over the limit and had eluded Baroda-Lake police before Berrien County police had quickly located them and engaged in a pursuit.
