Joshua Bauman, 31, will be sentenced by St. Clair County Circuit Judge Michael West at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to court records.

Bauman pleaded guilty in August to first-degree premeditated murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and first-degree home invasion. A charge of felony firearms was dismissed as part of his plea deal.

Following his plea, Bauman's sentencing hearings were rescheduled twice due to court conflicts.

In December, West granted Colovos' motion for Bauman to undergo a competency examination.

On. Feb. 11, it was determined Bauman was competent to stand trial. West made the ruling Bauman has the ability to understand the charges against him and to participate in the judicial process after reviewing a competency report and video testimony from psychologist Michelle Hill.

Bauman was arrested following a shooting on Aug. 24, 2018, in Clyde Township, which killed Port Huron Police Lt. Joel Wood and injured Bauman's estranged wife, Ashly Bauman, and her neighbor, Tim Fuester.
