An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation into the 2015 homicide of a Columbia man has resulted in the indictment of four Middle Tennessee individuals on multiple charges, including first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping, according to a TBI press release.

At the request of 21st District Attorney General Kim Helper, TBI Special Agents began investigating the homicide of Paul ‘JR’ Hayward, who was found shot to death on the side of Highway 230 in Hickman County on Dec. 27, 2015, according to the TBI.

The victim’s vehicle was found the following day at a bar located in Columbia. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that indicated that Hayward had been the target of a planned robbery attempt, and that Lyndsey Barnes, Jamie Swarthout, Mustafa Slater, and Tramell Sparkman were the individuals responsible for his death.

On Feb. 5, the Hickman County Grand Jury returned indictments against those four individuals.

All four listed below were served with charges:

*Lyndsey Barnes (DOB 09/11/1998): Two counts First Degree Murder, one count Attempted Robbery, one count Aggravated Kidnapping, one count Robbery Conspiracy. Currently held in the Hickman County Jail.

*Jamie Swarthout (DOB 02/25/1993): Two counts First Degree Murder, one count Attempted Robbery, one count Aggravated Kidnapping, one count Robbery Conspiracy. Currently held in the Maury County Jail on unrelated charges.

Police were called to the 11700 block of the Southwest Freeway, near Wilcrest, after reports of a shooting on Friday afternoon.Witnesses told police a woman fired several gunshots at a gray Chevrolet Impala. She then got into the shot-up car with a man, and they fled the scene.

Two counts First Degree Murder, one count Attempted Robbery, one count Aggravated Kidnapping, one count Robbery Conspiracy, one count Employment of a Firearm during Dangerous Felony, one count Possession of Weapon by Convicted Felon. Currently held in the Davidson County Jail on unrelated charges.

Woman in fatal wrong-way wreck arrested after DUI crash .
PHOENIX (AP) — A Phoenix woman who was out of jail on reduced bail while awaiting trial on murder and other charges in a fatal wrong-way DUI crash on a freeway was arrested and charged in a second DUI wreck, authorities said. Delilah R. Castillo, 22, was initially arrested and jailed last August after being hospitalized for serious injuries from a July 30 crash that killed another driver, 20-year-old Laiquan Lemon.
