  McDonald's worker allegedly smashes coffee pot of hot water on customer's head The McDonald's worker told police she and a man had a verbal dispute at the drive-thru window and that he spit at her. Reed said she then grabbed a coffee pot and struck him with it, causing the cut to the left side of his neck.The man was taken to the hospital, where he remained Friday in stable condition.Reed, 24, was arrested at the restaurant, police said. She was charged Friday with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.It is unclear whether Reed has a lawyer.

At 5:46 p.m. Gun Violence Response Team officers pulled over a car containing four young people. The officers knew two of the teenagers, a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy, from previous arrests. Both boys were still under supervision from a previous gun related offense.

During the stop officers searched the car and found a loaded 9 mm handgun.

The 16 and 17-year-old boys were taken to Juvenile Detention on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

All four of the teens were referred to “youth-focused resources” that are aimed in reducing gun violence.

Police investigating a shooting at an East Side home .
Police are searching for several men who may have shot into an East Side home early Tuesday morning. Officers were called to the 100 block of Nellina at around 2:30 a.m. for reports of a bedroom window being shot at. Minutes later, while officers were responding to the Nellina shooting, another call came in about a second shooting nearby. The second caller told police three men fired shots into the air before running into a vacant house across the street from the Nellina shooting. When police arrived at the vacant house, they found it was secured with a metal burglar bar on the door and all the windows except for one in the back, police said.
