On that day, the 70-year-old Harris County Sheriff’s sergeant met with a deputy who didn’t realize he was sick and later tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The fever arrived a few days later. The symptoms were mild at first. A low fever. Fatigue. But such symptoms weren’t unusual for Scholwinski, who has scarred lungs that make him cough sometimes. And he seemed to shake it off, until Monday, March 23. “We had some high hopes,” Rynda said. “But that evening, his fever came back up.

Two shootings at separate locations early Monday are under investigation, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. The first call came in at 11:30 p.m., about two shooting victims at the Halcyon Apartments located at 308 Halcyon Circle, Lt. Jimmy Bolt said . The second call came in at 11:45 p.m., about another man shot at Woodlea Oaks Apartments located at 4307 Edwards Road, Bolt said . The man was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Investigators do not believe these incidents are connected and there are no suspects in custody.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says two people were shot Wednesday night at an apartment complex near Goose Creek. Deputies responded at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday to the Pinebrook Pointe Apartments on 5500 Harbour Lake Dr. off of Red Bank Road. Deputy Carli Drayton said two people were wounded but there was no immediate word on their condition. Authorities have not released any description of a possible gunman.

Deputies responded to the Magnolia Bay Apartments on Highway 78 near Summerville just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and learned the victim was already at an area hospital with an apparent gunshot wound, Capt. Roger Antonio said . He told deputies he was shot while outside at the apartment complex . Multiple apartments in the same building were struck by gunfire, but no other victims were found, Antonio said . Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at the complex , located on Pinegate Drive near USC Upstate . The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said Rodderick Lakeem Sparks, 23, of Spartanburg, was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where died at about 10:45 p.m. Officers said there is no threat to the public. The sheriff’s office will continue to investigate the homicide. Investigators do not believe these incidents are connected and there are no suspects in custody.
