  California Man Rescued From Liquid Manure Pond, Immediately Arrested The suspected drunk driver told officers that he had crashed his vehicle into an "unknown water source" and it was quickly filling up with the liquid. First responders with the Cosumnes Fire Department, which serves the cities of Elk Grove and Galt in Sacramento County, located the vehicle after around 50 minutes of searching, spotting it was "partially submerged in a liquid manure storage pond."California Highway Patrol (CHP) units arrived on the scene, and it was ascertained that the driver had been in the pond for about an hour.

For about three hours, around 10,000 people, according to unofficial estimates, had crisscrossed the city center in the late afternoon.

Two earlier nights of protest in the Phoenix area in response to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and other police killings were concentrated in central Phoenix, near the Phoenix Police Department headquarters, City Hall and the state Capitol.

But hundreds of people converged on the Scottsdale mall Saturday after a post circulated on social media told people to meet at 10 p.m. as an alternative to damaging "our own community."

"We gone take this protest, rage, anger, sadness and hurt to the white people community," the post read. "They need to hear our cry they need to LISTEN."

Some smashed windows, tagged walls with graffiti and walked out with handfuls of merchandise.

Glass was shattered and inventory picked through at most of the outward-facing storefronts at Scottsdale Fashion Square. Businesses such as P.F. Chang's, Culinary Dropout, Urban Outfitters and Sprinkles Cupcakes all suffered property damage.

A wedding dress inside David's Bridal had been defaced with black spray paint, while the glass entrance of the Apple store, which faces east onto Scottsdale Road, was shattered, with the words "For Floyd" spray-painted in red on the walls.

At least one assault was reported, police said.

  • Breanna Michelle Akins (27).
  • One 17-year-old male whose name was withheld.

Police spokesman Ben Hoster said three of the suspects live out of state, while the others live in various cities around the metro Phoenix area.

The Phoenix chapter of Black Lives Matter put out a statement Saturday night saying it was not involved with the event at Scottsdale Fashion Square and expressed concern for the safety of the participants.

Scottsdale police called the activity "a riot."

"While some may have indeed come to join what they believed would be a peaceful protest, what occurred was neither peaceful, nor a protest. It was a riot that saw several dozens of individuals collectively damaging property at and near the mall, breaking into businesses and looting the interiors," a department statement said.

Photos could help police find those accused of breaking into Tampa stores during night of unrest .
They were caught on camera breaking into a Cricket Wireless and a CVS in Tampa during the unrest on May 30 and now officers want to know who they are, according to Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay. Crime Stoppers Tampa Bay shared photos of people using a bat to break into a Cricket Wireless located at 2920 Busch Boulevard. Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay also shared photos of the people accused of going into a CVS at 2911 E. Fowler Avenue, breaking things inside and stealing from the store. Anyone who has a tip needs to give the photo number, the person's clothing description and who they are.
