The San Francisco Bay Area doctor has more than 200 patients who have inquired when he will offer inoculations against the coronavirus. One patient, who is 67, said he walked into a Safeway supermarket because signs said doses were available.

While most of the products have been recovered, the salon owner estimated her loss at $50,000, according to The Olympian.

The incident prompted law enforcement to put a call for help in their search for the missing vaccines. The agency emphasized in the same Facebook post that the coronavirus treatment is available at no cost for residents.

“So we ask the question, ‘What would a thief want with 100 COVID-19 vaccines that you can get for free?’ The answer is, ‘We’re not sure,’” authorities said.

“But we want you to be cautious if you come across someone who offers you a vaccine outside of official vaccination events, medical/dental offices or pharmacies.”

In an update on Wednesday, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office revealed deputies arrested a 30-year-old male suspect in connection the both burglaries. He was not named.

“Investigators have recovered most of the property, including the COVID-19 vaccines,” according to the police statement. “The property was hidden in bushes and most of it was destroyed by the weather.”
