Hundreds rally outside prison for Georgia's former president
RUSTAVI, Georgia (AP) — Hundreds of demonstrators rallied Monday outside a prison where former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has been held since his arrest after returning to the country last week. Saakashvili, who left Georgia in 2014 and became a Ukrainian citizen, was later sentenced to up to six years in prison on abuse of power convictions handed down in absentia. He came back to the country with the aim of galvanizing opposition as Georgia held nationwide municipal elections, and was arrested hours after posting videos Friday on social media announcing that he was back.
A young Georgia woman was shot dead with her own gun after, police say, she and another woman attempted to rob two men they were in a car with.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Fred Drive in Warner Robins after receiving a report about a person being shot at around 12.30 a.m. on Sunday, the Warner RobinsDepartment said in a news release that was posted on .
Police said investigators learned that Kyndal Reynolds, 21, and Tywana Antonette Cody, 42, both of Warner Robins, had met two men earlier in the night. Later, while they were all inside a vehicle together, police said Reynolds had tried to rob the men.

Brandon Lopez was fatally shot after an hours-long standoff with police. "We're investigating the case in line with the requirements of AB 1506," the Department of Justice said in an email to ABC News. "Generally speaking, AB 1506 requires our office to investigate all incidents of an officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of an unarmed civilian in the state.

One of the men attempted to disarm Reynolds and she was shot with her own weapon during the struggle, according to police.
She was transported to the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police said investigators determined Cody had been working with Reynolds to rob the men. Cody was arrested and is facing charges including felony murder and party to a crime of aggravated assault. She was being held at the Houston County detention facility.
The men stayed on the scene early Sunday and cooperated with investigators, police said. They have not been charged.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds to cover the costs of Reynolds' funeral described her as a "wonderful" mother.
"It is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to all of you today," Akima Rodriguez wrote on the page.
"Many of you may have recently heard that our beloved Kyndal recently passed. Kyndal was a wonderful Mother, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and friend who touched the lives of those around her. Amongst her family, she leaves behind her handsome son Keagyn (Kea), her brother Kingston and Mother Heather Reynolds.
"We are all devastated by the loss of Kyndal, and we want to assist Heather and her family in any way we can and give Kyndal the memorial she deserves to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes."
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
