Teen Mom 2 alum Leah Messer and her fiancé Jaylan Mobley are planning to renovate their new home following the premiere of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, but viewers are already calling out their plans for being unrealistic. Leah, whose pregnancy with twins Aliannah and Aleeah was featured on 16 And Pregnant, was previously married to Cory Simms and Jeremy Calvert before meeting 26-year-old Jaylan in late 2020. Since becoming Instagram official in September 2021, Leah and Jaylan have documented their relationship online, with the duo frequently sharing photo shoots and Leah's three daughters.

Although Leah and Jaylan have stayed busy expressing their love for one another online, the duo has been routinely criticized by Teen Mom fans who believe the couple is moving too fast. Despite only knowing one another for two years, viewers have expressed concern about them rushing their relationship. Months before Leah and Jaylan announced their engagement in August, he revealed in April that he surprised Leah and her daughters with a new home in Charleston, West Virginia. While the pair have kept discussing their new residence on the down low, Jaylan and Leah are now preparing to renovate their new home.

While Jaylan, Leah, and her girls look excited to take on the upcoming project while showing off a sketch of their post-renovation house, Reddit users immediately took to u/darkfantasy987's thread and expressed issues with several aspects of the proposed design. The home will feature a basketball court, a small building with panels, and what appears to be a large pool with installed bleachers. Dozens of Teen Mom fans questioned Leah and Jaylan's decision to expand their home, particularly criticizing the idea of a basketball court when Leah and her children have yet to express any interest in basketball. In addition, many comments questioned why Leah is prepared to shell out a large sum of money on the home despite Jaylan being its only owner, with several people suggesting that Leah should be on the deed before starting renovations.

The pair never got back together after that, but she continued to help the pack, especially during the emergence of The Alpha Pack and the Darach.

Besides describing Leah and Jaylan's decision to pose with a blueprint of their renovations as "tacky" and "ridiculous," viewers dislike the home's two-story set-up, which features all bedrooms on the second floor. Considering Ali's limited mobility has been documented for years since long-time Teen Mom star Leah's daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, Reddit users have called out Jaylan and Leah's choice to live in an inaccessible house. "I really hope that making this home more accessible for Ali is in the plans, too," one person wrote. Another pointed out that Leah previously "talked about needing a house on one level for Ali" during the early seasons of Teen Mom 2.

Although some people aren't fans of Leah and Jaylan's engagement or their upcoming home renovations, the two are clearly head-over-heels for one another and have no plans to pump the breaks on their relationship. Despite fans' issues with the couple, there are still bigger issues waiting to unfold as Teen Mom: The Next Chapter continues. Between Cheyenne Floyd revealing that she was shot at and Ashley Jones and Briana DeJesus publicly fighting, Leah and Jaylan's future renovations are just one Teen Mom storyline out of many anticipated ones.

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on MTV.
