At the 2019 Grammy Awards taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday, Grande is nominated in two categories: best pop vocal performance for “God Is a Woman” and best pop vocal album for Sweetener. She has been nominated four times in the past but has yet to take home the gramophone.

According to a report from Variety, though, Grande — whose Grammy appearance and rumored performance has been advertised on billboards promoting the show — will not be serenading the audience at the Staples Center or, for that matter, even showing up because producers would not let her perform “7 Rings.”

Grande clapped back at producers via Twitter Thursday afternoon. “i offered 3 different songs. it’s about collaboration. it’s about feeling supported. it’s about art and honesty. not politics. not doing favors or playing games. it’s just a game y’all.. and i’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me,” she wrote.

Grande concluded her diatribe by sharing her gratitude for the Recording Academy’s recognition: She’s up for best pop vocal album for her acclaimed LP Sweetener, as well as best pop solo performance for “God Is a Woman.”

The Recording Academy did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
