With the release of Avengers: Endgame just a month away as of today, new character posters spotlighting the various heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have debuted on social media, offering a reminder of who’s still active — and redefining the name of the franchise in the process.
Each of the posters spotlights one of the MCU’s heroes — including some unexpected choices; Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan gets one, as does Tom Hiddleston’s Loki — in a portrait with each hero looking off camera, with a simple color code: Those active during at the time of Endgame’s opening — i.e., those who survived Thanos' Snap — are in full color, while those turned to dust are black and white.
Avengers: Endgame runtime may exceed three hours, no time stone needed
Avengers: Endgame runtime may exceed three hours , no time stone needed Avengers: Endgame has a runtime of 3 hours and 2 minutes, according to a posting on the AMC Theatres website — making it the longest ever for a Marvel movie. Marvel Studios tends to run a little long — such is the nature of crafting epics — with most films hitting around the 2-hour and 15-minute mark. With a panoply of heroes to contend with, the Avengers films tended to be the record-setters. The 2012 original clocked in at 2 hours 23 minutes, and Age of Ultron came in at 2 hours 21 minutes.
As part of this, at least one casualty was confirmed for the first time: Shuri gets a black and white poster, meaning that, although it happened off-screen, she was killed as part of the Snapture. Sorry, everyone that hoped she would secretly be the new Black Panther.
All posters feature the tagline “Avenge the Fallen,” which both offers a new definition of the Avengers title and a callback to 2012’s first Avengers movie, wherein a defiant Tony Stark told Loki, “If we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we’ll avenge it.” Of course, this time, the stakes are far bigger than just the Earth, with the entire universe — or, at least, 50 percent of it — up for grabs.
Avengers: Endgame opens April 26. Below, a range of the tweets revealing the posters.
Watch This New 'Avengers: Endgame' Trailer While You Try to Buy Tickets (Video)
It looks like Marvel Studios decided to drop one last big tease for "Avengers: Endgame" on us while they put tickets up for sale at the wee hours of the morning — and, yes, since we're based in Los Angeles, this is a hella early time for us to have to care about buying anything. Thus far we're not having much luck actually procuring tickets as all the sellers are swamped — no surprise, since this is probably the most anticipated movie maybe ever — but this trailer, which lasts one minute, is quite a doozy.

'Avengers: Endgame' leaked footage prompts Marvel fans to leave social media.
Leaked footage of Marvel's highly guarded "Avengers: Endgame" has prompted spoiler-averse fans to retreat from social media. The long-awaited superhero film is due in theaters April 26 and has already been breaking box-office presale records. Disney has made painstaking efforts to obscure "Endgame's" content, but the leak undercut those efforts as spoiler-heavy footage made its way online this week. Fans tweeted that they were “terrified” to read any spoilers online, and others wrote that they’d be leaving social media until they watched the movie — the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has been more than a decade in the making.
