Backlash after Lil Nas X song nixed from Billboard country chart
Lil Nas X's genre-blending tune was a breakout hit, but Billboard quietly removed the song from the country chart the following week, reports CBS News correspondent Jericka Duncan. It later issued a statement saying the song "does not embrace enough elements of today's country music to chart in its current version." Lil Nas X responded on Genius.com. "I started to think about it, I was like, you know, why? After like listening to other songs that's actually on that chart, it's like, wait a minute, something's not right, basically," Lil Nas X said.

A second BTS song, “Make It Right,” also made the chart, making them the first K-pop group to score at least two simultaneously-charting hits.

Its music video racked up more than 74 million views in 24 hours on YouTube – the most for a 24-hour period – and became the fastest video to reach 100 million views, taking both titles from fellow K-pop group. Earlier this month, BTS also became the first Asian act to pass 5 billion streams on Spotify and the first Korean act to , and were Time’s 100 Most Influential People. Suffice it to say, they’re having a good year.
Lil Nas X held down the top spot on the Hot 100 for a third week withfeaturing Billy Ray Cyrus.
