EntertainmentDaniel Craig to Undergo Ankle Surgery From James Bond Production Injury
‘Bond 25’ Suspends Shooting After Daniel Craig Injury (Report)
The difficult road to production on the latest James Bond film has hit another hurdle after shooting was reportedly suspended following an injury to star Daniel Craig. According to British newspaper The Sun, the actor fell while sprinting on the set in Jamaica last week and has been flown to the U.S. for X-rays, resulting in a suspension of the shoot. The newspaper cited an unnamed source as saying that Craig was shooting one of his final scenes in Jamaica. “He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly,” the source said. “He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.
Daniel Craig will undergo minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained while filming the untitled James Bond film.
"Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020," read a statement posted on the franchise's official Twitter account.
Bond producer Eon hadn't previously commented on reports of the injury.
Shooting locations for the project include Jamaica, Norway, London and Italy.
The film unveiled its cast in April. Rami Malek will portray the villain this time around while Ben Whishaw will return as Q. Also, Lea Seydoux will reprise her role from Spectre as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Naomie Harris will return as Miss Moneypenny and Ralph Fiennes will be back as M.
Daniel Craig Expected to Return to ‘Bond 25’ Set ‘Within the Week’ (Report)
Daniel Craig is expected to return to shooting the latest James Bond film “within the week” after suffering an injury during a stunt, it has been reported. According to British newspaper The Sun, which broke the story of Craig’s ankle injury suffered on set in Jamaica last week, which caused a temporary halt to production, the actor will be able to resume production while being careful not to aggravate the injury. The newspaper cited an unnamed source as saying Craig’s injury was not as bad as initially feared. “Things were deemed to be a disaster at first,” the source said.
Details of the plot revolve around Bond is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica (where Craig was injured during filming) after leaving active service.
But, naturally, his peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help.
The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain (played by Malek) armed with dangerous new technology.
In addition to Jamaica, filming locations include Norway, Pinewood and London before finishing in Italy. Producers on the film are Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, along with director Cary Joji Fukunaga.
This marks Craig's fifth time playing Bond, surpassing Pierce Brosnan's four films, but behind Sean Connery and Roger Moore, who separately played 007 in seven films.

Daniel Radcliffe: "James Bond? Me? Good joke!"
In the movie world, there seems to be a new rule of thumb: anyone who has a British or Irish passport - as you are not so specific about - and an actor under 50 and over 25 is automatic a candidate for the new James Bond. So also Daniel Radcliffe (29).
But the Harry Potter star has no choice but to get his person talking for a follow-up to the current 007, Daniel Craig (51). He is currently shooting his last Bond, then retires for reasons of age. Actually, the star wanted a movie earlier to quit the service on behalf of Her Majesty, but lack of successor, he was persuaded, for 'Bond 25' but once again to save the world. Will there be another Daniel after that?
Daniel Radcliffe's accent does not make Bond
A Daniel with surname Radcliffe will definitely not be, as Daniel Craig's young colleague now clarifies. "Just because I have an English accent, people in America say to me, 'You should be James Bond,'" the actor says in an interview with the BBC. But the dream candidate looks quite different: "It would be a ridiculous choice," said the star. Finally there is enough choice. Who knows, maybe Daniel Radcliffe will change his mind and eventually conjure as James Bond?
