A clerk of criminal court may have mishandled $10,000 worth of bond money, according to a spokesperson at criminal court. Clerk of Court Arthur Morrell said that a bond clerk may have mishandled an envelope containing $10,000 that was part of a $30,000 cash bond that was paid Tuesday afternoon at court. According to the statement issued by Morrell, around 4:30 p.m. a night-shift bond clerk was thought to have placed three envelopes each containing $10,000 in cash into the Clerk of Court’s safe. No other deposits were subsequently made into that safe Tuedsay evening. At 9 a.m. Wednesday, the office manager opened the safe and removed the envelopes.
