Niznik’s passing was first announced on Friday, though a cause of death has not been reported. During ABC’s TCA executive session, the network’s Entertainment President Karey Burke was asked to comment on the bombshell claims by former The Rookie co star Afton Williamson that she walked away from the show after being sexually harassed and racially discriminated against. The leading studio behind the series, Entertainment One, which co-produces with ABC Studios, said Sunday afternoon that it had “initiated an independent investigation” into the allegations.

Rutger Hauer, ‘Blade Runner’ Co-Star, Dies at 75

Rutger Hauer, ‘Blade Runner’ Co-Star, Dies at 75 Rutger Hauer, the versatile Dutch leading man of the ’70s who went on star in the 1982 “Blade Runner” as Roy Batty, died July 19 at his home in the Netherlands after a short illness. He was 75. Hauer’s agent, Steve Kenis, confirmed the news and said that Hauer’s funeral was held Wednesday. His most cherished performance came in a film that was a resounding flop on its original release. In 1982, he portrayed the murderous yet soulful Roy Batty, leader of a gang of outlaw replicants, opposite Harrison Ford in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi noir opus “Blade Runner.

ABC Chief Addresses Misconduct Allegations By ‘The Rookie’ Co-Star Afton Williamson – TCA© ABC “I am frustrated, I don’t have a lot of answers; I wish I had more,” Burke said Monday. “I heard at the end of June that there were allegations and an investigation has been launched. We are waiting for answers… As soon as we learn more, we will make determination based on what’s found.”

She expressed hope that the third-party investigation launched by eOne would produce “results that are independent and trustworthy.”

Those conclusions “will guide us how to handle similar situations in the future,” Burke added when asked about a possible communications breakdown as Williamson alleges that the series’ showrunner had not acted on her complaints about racial discrimination and sexual harassment.

In her Instagram post over the weekend, Williamson, who played John Nolan’s (Nathan Fillion) training officer Talia Bishop on The Rookie, explained why she will not be returning for Season 2. She claims that she quit the ABC series because of systematic racism/racially charged comments, bullying, and sexual harassment, which remained largely ignored by the producers of the show until the sexual harassment by the head of the hair department escalated to sexual assault at the wrap party and the person was fired.

‘Transparent’ Musical Finale To Premiere This Fall; Trailer Unveiled – TCA

‘Transparent’ Musical Finale To Premiere This Fall; Trailer Unveiled – TCA It was announced today at TCA that Amazon’s Transparent musical finale will drop on Sept. 27 on Prime. For quite some time, Jill Soloway wanted to create a musical with her sister Faith, a writer and consulting producer on the show. “What we went through over the past couple of years, we needed to find a new way to enter this story,” said Soloway at TCA today without specifically mentioning Jeffrey Tambor’s departure from the series in the wake of sexual harassment allegations. “This was our chance to heal together,” said Soloway, “every time we improvised, sang, or danced together, we were trying to work back to that holy belief of what was important.

I will not be returning for Season 2 of The Rookie. I owe it to you my amazing fans to share the Truth. Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers. During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party. The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. The Hair Dept. Head was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. This actor reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the actor had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice. Strength comes from within. It comes from Above. “Greater is He that is within Me than he that is in the world” ❤️????????
