Former Mesquite cop found not guilty of aggravated assault in shooting of unarmed man A former Mesquite police officer who shot an unarmed man twice while responding to a suspicious person call has been found not guilty on an aggravated assault by a public servant charge. Derick Wiley, 37, was on trial a second time after jurors couldn't agree on a verdict last year. A Dallas County jury acquitted him Monday. Wiley cried and hugged family and friends after the verdict was read in court. Several Mesquite police officers were in the courtroom during the five-day trial and embraced Wiley at its end. He was criminally charged in the shooting 32-year-old Lyndo Jones. Wiley responded to a report of a suspicious person Nov.

Early Wednesday (Aug. 14), A$AP Rocky was found guilty on misdemeanor assault charges in Sweden, but would not have to serve any further time in jail. Flacko publicly reacted to the verdict hours later, admitting he's "disappointed" with the judge's decision, but plans to put this situation behind him.

THANK YOU TO MY TEAM, MY MANAGEMENT, ATTORNEYS, LABEL AND EVERYONE WHO ADVOCATED FOR JUSTICE."

Trump lashes out at Sweden: 'Give A$AP Rocky his freedom' President Trump on Thursday forcefully objected to Sweden's decision to pursue charges against rapper A$AP Rocky, whose case the president has taken an interest in after it was raised by Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West.The president tweeted that he was "very disappointed" in Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, who said over the weekend he would not intervene in the case despite a phone call from Trump."Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States," Trump tweeted. "I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers.

No fines or community service were levied on Rocky and his pair of co-defendants in the case. However, the Swedish court did order the Harlem native to pay up approximately $22,300 in restitution and legal fees to 19-year-old alleged victim, Mustafa Jafari. The amount is a combined sum to be paid by all three defendants in total.
