Entertainment Lauren Graham to Star in Mighty Ducks Series Reboot at Disney+
Disney+ and its epic series ‘The Mandalorian’ will launch in Europe sooner than expected
Disney+ is currently available in just three markets, including Canada, the Netherlands, and the US, which makes watching some of its content an annoying chore for most people. The Mandalorian is easily Disney’s first breakout TV series for the streaming service and a show that you’ll certainly enjoy, especially if you’re into Star Wars stories. To watch it from Europe and other territories, you’ll have to either VPN your way into someone’s Disney+ subscription or download it illegally. Thankfully, that’s about to change real soon, as Disney just announced that it’ll launch Disney+ is several European markets even earlier than anticipated.
This is pretty pucking cool: Gilmore Girls MVPis set to star as the coach of a ragtag hockey team in Disney+’s series reboot of , which has snagged a 10-episode straight-to-series order. Additionally, Brady Noon (Boardwalk Empire) will co-star as Graham’s TV son.
The series is, of course, based on the ’90sfilm trilogy, which began with 1992’s The Mighty Ducks and concluded with 1996’s D3: The Mighty Ducks. It starred Emilio Estevez as Gordon Bombay, a down-on-his-luck attorney who became the coach of a Minnesota-based youth hockey team.
Sophie Turner Wants to Save the Lizzie McGuire Revival and Play Miranda
Sophie Turner is ready to take on the role of Miranda in Disney+'s new Lizzie McGuire series"So, the Lizzie McGuire show has been put on hold. I'm obviously devastated like the rest of us, but I'm pretty sure—Like, is Miranda appearing in this season because I'm here. I'm available. I am your new Miranda," Turner said in her Instagram stories.
In the reboot, which is set in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan (Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports.
Steve Brill, the creator, writer and executive producer of all three films, is back as co-creator and executive producer of the new series. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa (The King of Queens) are co-creators and will serve as showrunners and EPs. James Griffiths and Michael Spiller will serve as executive producers with Griffiths directing. Graham is co-executive producer.
Ewan McGregor Says Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Has Pushed Production to 2021 (Exclusive)
The Disney+ limited series on the legendary Jedi master has been delayed. After rumors last week that the show -- which was officially confirmed during the Disney+ presentation at D23 Expo last August -- had been cancelled, Collider was first to report on Thursday that the series had instead been put on hold, with crews sent home from Pinewood Studios in London, where they were preparing to begin filming.

This isn’t the first time the Ducks have appeared the small screen. Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series — which had no connection to the movies, save for its name — ran from 1996 to 1997 as part of ABC’s “Disney Afternoon” block of programming.
Production on the live-action Mighty Ducks series is set to begin this month in Vancouver ahead of a late 2020 bow on Disney+.
