Maia Campbell, who starred alongside LL Cool J in the '90s sitcom "In The House," has been arrested as part of a street racing crackdown in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the actress was one of 44 people arrested earlier this month, although it's not immediately clear how involved she actually was.

Police told the newspaper that Maia, 43, was charged with being a pedestrian in the roadway, noting that 114 citations were issued during the massive bust. All were "for activities related to street racing," police said.

Street racing in Atlanta has become a big issue of late, particularly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A police spokesman said street racing is "a perfect storm" for bored teens, as their normal hangout spots such as malls and parks have been closed or severely altered due to social distancing measures.

After a year of development, we are now looking at the lessons learned. Radical rule changes usually lead to a certain divergence as each team goes in its own direction. Over time, however, the solutions come closer to those that appear to deliver the best performance.

In addition to starring in "In The House," Maia also appeared in "Moesha," "Sister, Sister," "Beverly Hills 90210" and even the film "Poetic Justice."

In 2017, Maia found herself in the headlines after a video of her asking for drugs went viral. At the time, LL reached out to Maia on Twitter with an offer to help. She replied, "I don't need help. I just need a benefit concert for mental health … Don't DM me … I'm good … Don't call me. I'll call you. I don't want it to go down. I don't know. Pray to God. Start rapping."

A few years prior, Maia said she suffered from bipolar disorder during an episode of "Iyanla: Fix My Life."
