Days after Amanda Kloots shared a tearful update about her 41-year-old husband, who has been hospitalized since March for, she said the Broadway star was continuing to make “small improvements.”
“Nick update,” she wrote in an Instagram Story post on Friday. “He is doing good. He is defying odds.and showing small improvements every day.”
“It is exactly what we need,” Kloots added. “Small improvements are small wins that equal a VICTORY!”

The Rock of Ages star has been in the intensive care unit since late March. He was first admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems after being diagnosed with pneumonia. Shortly after being admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he became unconscious and was placed in a medically induced coma.Still sedated, Cordero was also put on dialysis to assist his kidneys, but doctors found an infection in his lung and he underwent emergency surgery.
Although Kloots has not disclosed exactly what happened to Cordero, earlier this week she said that her husband, who has woken up from his medically-induced coma, is still having issues with a, which is “left over from when he .”
“every day but it’s just not getting better,” she said, adding that once the infection goes away, doctors will be able to begin the process of getting her husband off a ventilator and “breathing on his own” again.
