Meet This Year’s VMA Nominees for Best New Artist

Meet This Year’s VMA Nominees for Best New Artist 2020 has been a crapshoot, to say the least, but some incredibly talented artists have emerged over the past few months — and MTV is recognizing them at the 2020 Video Music Awards. The network announced on July 23 that a whopping 17 newcomers were up for PUSH Best New Artist. The list was ultimately cut down to six when the rest of the categories were unveiled one week later: Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Lewis Capaldi, Roddy Ricch, Tate McRae and Yungblud. The performers who did not make the final nominations included Finneas, Ava Max, Summer Walker and the late Pop Smoke. Billie Eilish, who is Finneas’ sister, currently holds the title of Best New Artist, having won the Moon Person trophy at last year’s ceremony. She was unable to attend the show, however, because she was on tour. “The VMAs have been something that I’ve wanted to go to and be a part of for pretty much my whole life,” the “Bad Guy” singer, now 18, said in a video message at the time. “I’m actually in Russia, so I cannot come, which breaks my heart. But videos and visuals have been one of the top priorities for me my whole life, and I work really hard on mine, so it feels really, really good to be recognized for that.” MTV introduced the Best New Artist award at the inaugural VMAs in 1984, presenting it to the Eurythmics. It has since gone to entertainers such as Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Alanis Morissette, Eminem, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Cardi B. The 2020 ceremony was originally supposed to be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, but producers later decided to move it outdoors over safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The developers of this workout form, Peter Sowinski and Samim Omaid-Quraischi, are passionate breakdancers and breakletics trainers themselves and want to introduce more people to full-body training.

To do this, they face investors in the current episode of "Die Höhle der Löwen" in order to convince them of their special sports concept.

What is breakletics?

"Hi (i) t the beat" is the motto with which the breakdancers want to turn the fitness industry on its head - in the truest sense of the word.

Because in the workouts normal fitness exercises are combined with a wide variety of elements from breakdancing.

The result is a high intensity program that not only challenges the body, but also promises a good dose of fun. The fast beats also provide motivation.

The rhythmic training sessions can either be completed in a selected fitness studio in a group or as a digital workout. The training can be designed according to the personal performance level.

Regardless of the form in which the training is completed, the participants can look forward to specially produced music and motivational speeches from the coaches.

What can the workout do?

If you train with the app at home or outdoors, you can choose between different workout lengths from nine to 22 minutes as well as the difficulty levels beginner and advanced.

As a rule, the basic positions consist of well-known exercises such as Squats , Planks and Burpees - all large muscle parts of the body are therefore trained all around once.

Since this is an HIIT workout , the pulse is of course not spared, so even endurance in your own four walls can be improved without great equipment.

Another big advantage: A fitness studio is not absolutely necessary for training. A good way to stay fit in times of contact restrictions.

Can breakletics convince the lions?

The startup of the Berlin founders is already running in 17 countries. However, since sales are very complex and the (online) program is still being worked on diligently, capital is required.

Sowinksi and Quraischi are therefore hoping for an investment of 350,000 euros and are prepared to give up a ten percent stake in the company in return.

An investor like Leo Georg Kofler could be a good partner with his experience in sports and events. Likewise new lion Nico Rosberg, who knows about the importance of physical fitness and sport.
