He is a living legend with a career spanning over five decades and 85 film projects.

But surely Sylvester Stallone has never come across something as terrifying as himself on set.

The 74-year-old actor took to his Instagram on Wednesday morning to share a bizarre video of a prop of his head being held on a pole by a production assistant.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon: The Way They Were

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon: The Way They Were End of an era. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were once one of Hollywood’s favorite It couples, but their love story ultimately came to an end. The pair tied the knot at Carey’s private estate in the Bahamas in April 2008 after a six-week romance. Three years later, they welcomed fraternal twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe. Even after their 2014 separation and 2016 divorce settlement, Cannon and Carey made sure to keep their little ones’ happiness at the front of their minds. “It’s all about love,” the comedian said of his coparenting relationship with the Grammy winner during an interview with Amazon’s Style Code Live in February 2017. “You put the kids first, but then when you understand that you have unconditional love for these human beings and you want the best existence for them, then you put whatever differences you may have had aside.” The Real Husbands of Hollywood alum added, “A lot of times, when you think about breakups in relationships, it’s usually over ego. And if you can remove your ego from that, and make it about your loved ones, then that’s what it’s about.” Both Carey and Cannon moved on shortly after their divorce was finalized, with Cannon welcoming son Golden with model Brittany Bell in February 2017. The “Fantasy” songstress, for her part, began dating Australian businessman James Packer in 2015 and confirmed their engagement in January 2016.

'So, here we are again,' Sly began.

He then patted the top of his head, which created a cloud of even more dust.

'I’m not really this grey, and it's not dandruff,' he continued. 'We’re in this scene, I just got pretty totaled.

Then, an almost wistful look comes over the septuagenarian action star's grisly features.

'But old habits die hard,' he reasoned.

Then, Stallone proceeded to pick up a nearby sledgehammer.

'Right? Right,' he concluded, then giving a curt little thump of the sledgehammer in a manner not entirely unlike Thor.

The day prior, Sylvester posted a selfie to his Instagram feed, from the back and again featuring the sledgehammer – which may be his character's weapon of choice in the new flick.

He captioned that still image with, 'Working hard to make it work! Going extremely well...'

Samaritan, also starring Orange Is The New Black's Dascha Polanco, tells the story of young boy who 'learns that a superhero who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago may in fact still be around,' according to its IMDb page.

Stallone, meanwhile, started his screen acting career in 1969, first getting bit parts like 'stud' and 'subway thug' in the early Seventies.

He broke big, of course, with 1976's underdog classic boxing film Rocky, which scored him two Oscar nominations, for Best Actor as well as Best Screenplay.

Almost 40 years later Stallone defied the odds, and earned a third Academy Award nomination for again playing Rocky Balboa in a supporting role in the 2015 film Creed.
