Jamie Foxx in Talks to Reprise His Spider-Man Villain Electro in Tom Holland's Upcoming Sequel

Jamie Foxx in Talks to Reprise His Spider-Man Villain Electro in Tom Holland's Upcoming Sequel Jamie Foxx is in talks to return to his villain Electro in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel starring Tom HollandThe Oscar-winning actor first played Electro in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Andrew Garfield as the web-slinging superhero. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

What time is it? "It's time for Spider-Man 3," Tom Holland said as he announced his arrival in Atlanta to start filming the sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. "Let's go!"

Holland shared the update in a series of videos posted to his Instagram Story this weekend that documented his travel. The actor had started filming a different blockbuster movie for Sony Pictures, the movie adaptation of Uncharted, back in July. A first look at Holland as videogame character Nathan Drake arrived just last week, and the studio is keeping him busy by sending him next to tackle Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 3: Jamie Foxx back in Electro against Tom Holland

Spider-Man 3: Jamie Foxx back in Electro against Tom Holland This is the surprise announcement of the week: Sony is preparing an unlikely crossover between its Spider-Man universes. While we thought the franchise The Amazing hidden in the back of a closet, the studio will finally return the villainous Electro (Jamie Foxx) to face the hero played by Tom Holland in Spider-Man 3. © Sony Pictures Spider -Man 3: Jamie Foxx back in Electro against Tom Holland Andrew Garfield has plenty to do.

Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role of Doctor Strange alongside Holland in this next joint production between Sony and Disney's Marvel Studios—something that was worked out by both studios late last year. In the absence of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Strange will take on a mentor-like presence for Holland's Peter Parker.

Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in the Andrew Garfield era of Spider-Man movies, will also reportedly return to play the villain in this next movie.

Far From Home saw Holland's web-slinger face off against Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), who revealed the teen hero's secret identity to the public and painted him as a villain. J.K. Simmons, who played cranky Daily Bugle boss J. Jonah Jameson in the Tobey Maguire era of Spidey pics, reprised the character briefly for a Far From Home post-credits scene. The presence of Jameson, the reality-warping Strange, and (the reported presence of) Electro imply some kind of multi-verse. Almost like a... Spider-verse.

The Spider-Man films also feature newly minted Emmy winner Zendaya as M.J., Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, and Jacob Batalon as Pete's bff Ned. Jon Watts returns to direct the third installment after helming Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home.

Miles Morales becomes his own kind of hero in Marvel's Spider-Man spin-off: Review .
Despite some familiar beats from the previous game, Miles Morales strikes out on his own in fun and satisfying ways. Miles just sees New York with a different set of eyes than Peter, which naturally turns the familiar into new territory. A deaf street artist, likely responsible for the colorful Black Lives Matter mural spotted in the game; a same-sex couple working to maintain the F.E.A.S.T. homeless shelter facing heat from a shady figure; and the jovial Teo of Teo's Bodega are some of the people Miles helps along the way.
