Lokomotiva Zagreb's path leads steadily upwards

International Lokomotiva Zagreb is still a relatively blank slate. For 50 years, the club in the Croatian capital in the shadow of Dinamo Zagreb bobbed in the lowlands of the second division. It was not until 2009/2010 that he was finally promoted to the top division again. But since then the club, which emerged from a railway association, has continued to develop.

Last season Lokomotiva was even runner-up. Behind - logically - Dinamo Zagreb. They also reached the cup final, but lost to the HNK Rijeka. Since the recovery in 2010, the club has participated in the Europa League three times, but twice (2013/14 and 2015/16) failed to make it past the second qualifying round. In 2016/17 the leap into the play-offs preceding the group phase was made for the first time, but where they had to give up against KRC Genk.
